Report Builder

Turn query results into share-ready visuals. The Report Builder lets you place charts and KPIs on a grid-snapped canvas, customize colors per series or per bar/slice, and export clean PDFs/images for stakeholders.

Add Tiles from Results

  • Run a query in the Console to produce a result set.
  • Select a visualization: Bar, Line, Pie, or KPI.
  • Send it to the canvas and position it where you want.

Layout & Grid Snap

  • Drag to move; drag edges/corners to resize tiles.
  • Grid-snapping helps align items consistently across the page.
  • Use layer controls (bring forward/send backward) to manage overlaps.
  • Set or edit a centered report title at the top of the canvas.

Colors & Styling

  • Auto-palette assigns distinct colors to series and slices.
  • Override colors individually via per-segment color pickers (e.g., per bar).
  • Each canvas component (chart, KPI, text) supports individual recoloring.

Save, Re-Open & Export

  • Save reports with a unique name (you’ll be asked to confirm overwrites).
  • Re-open saved layouts from the sidebar and continue editing.
  • Export to PDF or image; the exporter recenters and scales to avoid clipping.
Tip: Shorten long category labels and reduce the number of segments for cleaner charts. Use the editor’s color pickers to keep brand colors consistent across tiles.

Troubleshooting

Empty chart or missing fields

Ensure your result set includes the dimension and measure columns required by the chart type (e.g., month + total_sales).

Labels overlap or look cramped

Shorten labels, rotate axis labels, or switch chart types (e.g., Bar → Line). Consider grouping to a higher level (e.g., month instead of day).

PDF export cuts off content

Reduce tile sizes slightly or flip orientation. The exporter recenters and scales, but extreme layouts can still clip.
